I've always like stories of how powerful young people are, like Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. We really don't give credit to our children and because we don't, they end up acting like children.
My Idea would be a colony ship that only had 16 and under on board. They could wake up not knowing how or why they are on the ship. Leaders would emerge (good and bad), they need to solve the mystery of how and why they are there, and they would need to decide what they were going to do. People could contribute different character perspectives or explore emerging virgin societies. There would be a lot that different writers contribute that could then be meshed into a novel.
Any way, if your still doing this, that is my 2 cents.
